How to Choose the Best Singapore Maths Curriculum as an Expat Family
Use this checklist to compare any Singapore Maths curriculum for your child.
The current syllabus
Check that the programme follows the MOE 2021 Primary Mathematics Syllabus, which now applies to every primary level.
English throughout
Books, videos and assessments should all be in English, so your child can work independently.
Digital access from any country
An eBook that runs in a browser keeps lessons going when you travel or move.
Print delivery
If you want printed books, check which countries they ship to before you choose.
Help for parents
Worked videos and a guide for parents mean you can help without a Singapore Maths background.
Placement
A placement check shows where your child should start, which matters when the school year differs by country.
Progress reports
Reports by topic help you show progress to a new school.
Singapore Primary Levels and Grades in Other Countries

Moving to Singapore?
International students applying to Singapore government schools take the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) test. For primary levels, the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) says applicants should know the maths topics taught in mainstream schools for the level before the one they apply for.
See the AEIS test details on MOE's website, and the Primary 1 to 6 topics list for what each level covers.
Access from Anywhere
The eBook runs in any modern browser on laptops, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, with nothing to install. It works online, so an internet connection is needed.
Every workbook question has a worked solution video, and families get a Parent's Guide for teaching at home. Homeschooling? See Singapore Maths for homeschool.
Questions from International Families
Will it work alongside my child's school curriculum?
Yes. Many families use Singapore Maths at home next to their child's school maths. Start with the AI placement check to see which topics your child already knows, then practise the rest.
Can my child switch mid-year?
Yes. Each grade has an A book and a B book, one for each half of the year, and the AI placement check shows which chapter to start from.
Is everything in English?
Yes. All books, videos and assessments are in English.
